About Me

I have seven years of experience working on 2D animated series in a studio environment. This has required me to have good teamwork and communication skills and to be detail oriented. Outside of the studio I also work on my own projects as a storyboard artist and illustrator. I use the skills that I’ve gained from a background of traditional art to inform all of the work that I do.

Working on a longform 2D animated show. Tasks included reboarding sequences as well as clean up and simple fixes.

Paper Owl Films - Storyboard Artist - Freelance (January 2022 - April 2022)

Created storyboards for a preschool show about small animals living on an allotment, WIth a focus on portraying big emotions for a young audience.

Gigglebug Entertainment - Storyboard Revisionist (Sept - Oct 2021)

- Best and Bester (Nickolodeon - 6x12min episodes)

My job was to provide short term cover for the storyboard revisionist position. I worked closely with my supervisor to fix and revise problems with staging, acting and continuity before sending the storyboards to Edit.

Mystery Q Limited - Mid level 2D Rigger (May 2020 - Sept 2021)

My responsibilities include creating complex character rigs in toon boom harmony both from scratch and from template rigs.

Brown Bag Films - Prop Rigger and Build Artist (March 2018 - May 2020)

- Powerbirds (Universal 40x11min episodes)

- Nella the Princess Knight (Nickelodeon, 40x11min episodes)

Responsibilities included rigging Props and backround elements in Toon Boom Harmony. I also rigged characters and costumes and assisted other departments as needed.

While working at Brown Bag Films I mentored other employees in how to rig in Toon Boom as well as helping out on the social and creative committees - organizing film screenings, staff socials, life drawing and sketching trips to museums and art galleries.

Staffordshire University - Guest Lecturer (2018-2019)

Ran yearly courses (5x3 hour) training undergraduates in how to use Toon Boom Harmony for rigged animation. This included creating rigs and learning materials for the students to use. This position required strong communication skills and a thorough understanding of the software in order to be able to effectively teach the material.

Brown Bag Films - 2D Renderer (Sept 2016 - March 2018)

- Nella the Princess Knight (Nickolodeon, 70x11min episodes)

Responsibilities were to check animation in Toon Boom Harmony and fix any mistakes before rendering out pngs for use by the compositing department. I would also pre-comp shots in After Effects and assist other departments as necessary. This requires a strong knowledge of harmony as well as communication skills to enable me to work closely with both the animation and compositing departments.

Void Applications - Design Intern (2015-2016)

- Created vector graphics, game art assets and animation for a games and web development company. Required me to make vector graphics and to develop my timekeeping skills due to the quick turnaround of projects.
